my babies are 6 weks old roughly an today i gave them a small bit of spinach leaves to try which they gulped down was that ok to do would it make them ill ,
the reason why i am asking is one of the babies was very easy to catch tonight and although i have only had them a week they are normally hell to get near . i hope it was ok as now i am getting a little worried.

I bet it was hoping it'll get some more spinach if it co-operates. 

If they were free-ranging with their mum, I reckon there'd be no spinach left on your plot by now so I can't see it causing a problem, providing they had access to grit or it could possibly give them crop problems. But that's only my guess since I've never had chicks.

u could be right rob  maybe i got a smart chick .

they have been pecking away at the new sycamore shoots on the tree stumps so i suppsoe  the spinach would not hurt them or anything esle for that matter .
its just with them being so yound i wasnt sure if anything was so much for them but your right if they were free ranging with mum then thhey would eat loads of stuff.
