While I was weeding at the end of a potatoe row yesterday a little Mimi potatoe literally popped out and rolled across the soil - it was about the size of one of those big marbles - Mimis are meant to be pretty small. While this could have been taken as an invitation to furtle - I resisted - I'm determined to leave them until the end of June, which will be 12 weeks exactly. A will of iron.  8)

Am new to all this but we had a furtle on sunday not quite ready yet but took some up and made a potato salad.I can honestly say i havent tasted potatos like it since i was a little girl!!!!! ones you buy in shops have no taste at all compared to ones you  grow yourself, am completly converted and will plant many more next year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a furtle with the Duke of York last weekend, he was so embarassed he turned red ;). Wife caught us and chopped him into bite size pieces before steaming him and feeding to family :D Have been instructed to furtle more often! :blush:

Some how or other I am not so sure my wife would view this the same way if I announced having furtled with the Duke of York despite his royal connections    :blink: :lol:

I furtled yesterday and not only did we have some delicious, good-sized spuds for tea but I've inspired the friend who was visiting to start growing her own veg!!!!
