My onions are doing really well but have just noticed that the ends have gone a bit yellow - is this normal ?

The bulbs dont seem to be developing much but the green leaves look healthly

Could this be due to lack of water ?

My shallots are doing the same but I'm fairly certain that it is a natural part of the process. Having read around, 40% of the leaf surface must have turned yellow before they're harvested.

Someone more experienced than me will confirm I'm sure!

Tips of mine are yellow. Always are.
