picked up my ex-battery hens
« on: April 06, 2007, 17:58 »
We went to fetch our 30 ex-battery hens today, we came home with 40 hens, 3 geese and a rotweiller called buster (who will come to us on monday after a house check), and the possibilty of a donkey and 2 pygmy goats. OOPS!!!

we now have, 48 hens, 4 dogs, 5 geese, macaw parrot, hamster and a partidge in a pear tree

I couldnt believe the difference from our hens to these poor scraggy creatures, as soon as we let them out it was a mass dive to the dust bathing area, it was lovely to see and such a nice feeling to think we have saved them from slaughter, i wish i could of taken more.

How great to be able to house so many ex-bats. Karenn  :D

Isn't it incredible that although they have probably never had a dust bath before they knew exactly what to do
