Rocket potatoes in flower.
« on: May 29, 2009, 09:04 »
My rocket potatoes have come into flower this week and I was wondering how long it will be until they are ready to lift? They were planted on 21 March and leaves became visible 21 April.

I'd have thought it'll be at least another few weeks, they've only been in about 9 weeks so far and I think it's at least about 12 weeks before the earliest of spuds are ready.

You could always stick your hand down into the soil and see how big the spuds are.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

The technical term is "furtle", Yorkie!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I've had a furtle and they are about half the size of a hens egg, so I covered them and resisted temptation. I might try again in a couple of weeks.
