sen a couple comments about brocoli being nearly finished on here and another site i go on ........... what are you people thinking the first cabbages wont be in till june . feed the brocoli with sulphate of ammonia now and or liquid fertiliser and it wil encourage more succulent tips to come ,if you dont want to eat it  cut it for ya chucks or freeze it . whats the point of growing an over wintering /cold weather  plant if your not cutting it right up to the spring /summer brassica's being ready
still alive /............

Good advice as ever....

I do have some small PSB plants i bought at a garden centre a few weeks back...i know its mega early but i am wondering wether to plant them out soon?...they have been hardened off....i guess ill just have an early crop if they survive.

other than that i just have some hispi sowed in conservatory that has only just sprouted....thats ok isnt it?

i normally have about ten or so goig to keep me and the familly going, the greens are quite tasty too :) if you pick at regular intervals ,the side shoots seem to do a bit better too :!: i love it in stir fries or steamed, cant stand mush

when you cut the main head of the plant cut a cross in the stem with a knife this will encourage new growth and new spears or sprouts of broccoli same goes for calabrese
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes
