Hi I have just got 6 ex-bats and their nails/claws are rearly long, can someone tell me how to cut them, any advice please, the other thing is they are now eating and drinking but they are not eating the grit/oyster shell, is this something they will look for later on or should I try something else.

We clipped the toenails of our ex-batts - they weren't too bad, but they did make them stand with their toes twisted.
We used wire cutters, but I think you're supposed to use dog toenail clippers.
Clip off the bit that's paler, don't cut them back too far or it'll bleed.
Someone will come along who'll be able to tell you what to look for.

wrt the oyster shell/grit - maybe mix some in with their mash - to start with they're totally indiscriminate with what they eat, they just scoop it all up in one beak-full.  It's worth a try.

cat nail clippers work best. For mine anyway.
