Egg yolks
« on: May 19, 2009, 23:29 »
I have made meringue tonight using 3 egg whites.
Has anyone got any suggestions what to do with 3 egg yolks please.

You could use them to make fresh custard, yummy  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

You could use them to make a quiche or enrich a cheese sauce.

Creme Brulee would always get my sister's vote for egg yolks.  Some lemon curd recipes just use egg yolks also.

I bought one of those tiny blow torches for use in the kitchen.  It got 'borrowed' and has never been seen again!  The garage is under threat of 'being tidied' so it may re-surface but I bet all the gas has gone. :)

I don't have a blowtorch - I just put them under the grill and keep an eye on them.
