My eggs are due to hatch today under my fiesty maran/orpington. just checked on her and there is the first hatchling dead underneath her. Very upsetting. Anybody have any theories on this?

That's sad Dianemk :(

Has the hen been a mummy before?

I had one sit full term on some ducklings only to boot them out of the nest at hatch :(

Sarah :)

That's a real shame diane. :(

Fingers crossed for the next one. Might be worth getting some bits and bobs ready in case you need to rescue it  :)
