Ants in the Bedding Trays !!

I have found today that the ants have got into trays of Begonias, whilst outside hardening off. The bench was cover in the fine soil, and they are everywhere.
I have put them out again, and put powder all over the bench.
I am worried that when I plant out (tomorrow or Thursday) the ants will have got into the little plants. Should I dredge the holes I dig and then plant, or has anybody got either ideas. Please help me and my plantlets. Thanks, Mrs Bouquet

I would think that unless you transfer queen ants as well the plants would be OK

especially as they have been 'powdered' and so probably won't too many to dig the soil about and loosen it before they die off
