so far behind but finally getting somewere
« on: May 17, 2009, 18:35 »
We had a break in the weather today ,so got the bean frame up and strung ,thought you might like to see pics

this is the biggest run of beans ive done so far ,but our children really love them and if the fussy little bleeders will eat them ive got to grow them ,also they have asked me to grow some cabbage and cailis this is a 1st for me so here they are

and yes i will get the hoe out and start weeding ,its just been a very hectic week  one 80 th party for the mil and one very sad funeral for wifes cousin and my best friends 50th last night so im still a bit tender    anyway thanks for looking   phil

Well done you...  I got very little done today, feel very ashamed when I look at your frame!   Weed carefully (especially if feeling a bit tender)  I hoed gently last week and took out a whole row of spring onions before I realized what I was doing.... Got rid of the weeds though!!!

That is going to be a lot of beans but if the little 'uns will eat them then I don't blame you!  Is looking brilliant.  Your cabbages are very large I am jealous!

Likewise, best part of 3 weekends I've been putting a fence up and a patio down, and this weekend I've achieved nothing despite having the time to do lots.

impressive bean frame,  not a bean eater here but can recognise someone elses hard work!  Got some of my turned over ground raked yesterday and a bit more today, put in three rows of leeks.  just got a little more to rake and some corn to go in (first lot).  only planted 16 last year but have around 60 this year in two lots (a vague attempt at successional sowing!).  got hlaf my brassicas in last week (at home) but still have the second lot coming through in seed trays, another vague attempt at successional sowing!
