My husband came home from work and said this guy at work wanted to get rid of about 8 pullets. He thought they might be light sussex. I jumped at the chance especially as they were free!  :D  When he went to work on Monday he told the guy we wanted them but he had sold them   However he said that he had 6 R.I.R. pullets that I could have FREE. Now that is what I call the right price

Where I go for horse feed etc the guy said that everyone has suddenly decided that they want to keep hens, the scare of Avian Flu has gone. When I asked how much his POL where I was told that they were £9.50 each, in January when the scare was high I bought my four girls at POL  from them for £6.00 each- I suppose they call it supply and demand.

Why such high prices...in Spain we pay about two pounds for pullets not far off laying anda pound for a quail.
