Is there any way of freezing rhubarb and saving it for use later on?

I just cut into chunks put it into bags and freeze it if I want it for wine making, or I cook it lightly and then freeze it in portion sizes for crumble or just for me to have stewed rhubarb and custard!!

I don't bother blanching it first

Sometimes I will cut it into chunks and freeze it in bags and other times I will stew it with some sugar in and it's really handy if I want to make a quite crumble.  I also sometimes slice a bit off and let it defrost for having with yoghurt if I feel the need of a quick fix.  That reminds me to have a look at the crowns I have in the garden as I have none left in my freezer at the moment.

If you do a big batch and stew it all fairly plainly and without too much sugar, all you need do is sugar and spice it to taste for that particular dish when it thaws and you're ready to go!
