Soo excited...cos my first spears of the pacific purples are showing through the ground...no sign yet of Gunjilm but hopefully not far behind.  :D

Nope ootside in the chilly Highlands.  Planted my bed last year.  Was more than a little surprised to see them this early this far north, i've about six or seven spears just poking through.  Should they be later?

Not sure to be pleased or worried - Munty.  

They're in a part of the garden that gets sun all day  but then at night we've been getting the frosts...maybe i've got Viking Asparagus!  :lol:

The warm water of the Gulf Stream (actually the North Atlantic Drift), swirls around the top of the Shetlands and hits the East Coast right about where you are Ziggy.   The fact that you are about 10ft from the sea helps a lot too.

Thanks WG....it has been warmer - well when the sun shines that is...i was sat in the sun today as it was soo warm...but when it goes boy does the temp plummet.   :D

blooming eck its sprouting all over . im gonna go n check mine the morrows sure cant afford to have mine hit with frost . i wil be cutting any spears off if they are up , mind the weather man says its gonanbe warm this week here  :roll:
