Can't catch breakfast
« on: May 09, 2009, 21:04 »
Im in a bit of a mess here.  :(

I moved the coop this afternoon. Tarzan and Lunch were relocated without problems but I just can't get hold of Breakfast. Shes off if I come within 8ft of her. I've tried food, treats, grabbing her , even blocking her off into a corner and netting her.

Normally she squats when I approach but something has her spooked.

Its getting dark and theres nowhere for her to spend the night, does anyone have any bright ideas on how I can move her without causing her any more distress ??

Mr Reynard is watching from the top of the Garden I can see him  :(  >:(

Don't know about chickens but I have found with my ducks that if all but one are where you want them to be the other will go to join them. Might be worth backing off for a little while to let her calm down and go to the others. Would keep a really watchful eye out with the fox about. You are going to have to get her in one way or the other or you are going to have a long night keeping watch!
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Panic over  :)

I've been trying off and on to get hold of her since 1pm today. I think as she couldn't see or hear the other 2 she must have thought Id taken the off to make soup (I do keep threatening them with it)

I managed to sneak up on her after shed settled down behind a bundle of canes for the night.  A very stressful day for the both of us - I expect she'll stop laying for a few days as pay back...

is that really thier names  i love them

I did have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner - but dinner died shortly after starting to lay. Tarzan is her very vocal replacement.
