Drainage in tubs

Just wondering what people use to aid drainage in tubs and containers. Ive been using stone chippings and bits of old broken pots but im fast running out. What else does anyone use that saves splashing out money

Charcoal.

Polystyrene, especially polystyrene multipacks.
