Seed Tapes

Has anyone had any experiences with seed tapes?

I am trying them for my carrots this year, and have just poked head under fleece to see how they are getting on, and it appears that they are being nibbled at by something as the leaves are rather stunted

Is this normal ?

I don't know of any seed tape pests.

Carrots, however, get nibbled by a lot of things, slugs are quite likely for a start.

Don't think it's slugs (no silvery trails), they do look a bit better now they are a bit bigger - will just have to persevere

Hello,

I use these tapes and they work fine. The same principles of plants pests apply when they start growing! My carrots seem to do better from tapes than those sown as seeds.

I used leek tapes this year and got absolutely nothing.
