Home Made Slug Traps

Can anyone tell me how best to make one?

I seem to have slugs in my SFG.

I just use a jam jar lying on its side but with the bottom lower than the neck so that you can get some cheapo bitter inside the jar (I use Morrison's 99pm for 4 cans bitter which is probably the best use of it!). The slugs crawl inside and drown.

In addition to that I put pieces of tile and slate down on the ground so the slugs go and hide under it, then each day I go and give them a squish!

Other people also go on 'slug patrol' at night with a torch but it seems like too much effort for me!

I read the Destructions :) on the Slug Trap in the garden centre today, and it said to add a couple of teaspoons of salt to the beer.
