Does anyone know a "cheap" source of Sulphate of Ammonia please?

I'm looking for either 25kg or 50kg.

I tried the local allotment association, in case they did a bulk-deal for members, but sadly they don't.

Are there any other lotty associations slightly less local?  My association does do the big bags, I think (not suggesting you travel up to York, just to illustrate that some other ones do sell it).

We obtain it trade so an individual plot holder might struggle to get it directly from the wholesaler.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

N A Kays are £16.50/25kg + postage and packing, if it helps.

Firstly I would google it just to see what the cost is and the delivery charge. Fertilizer is very heavy and I doubt if you have it delivered under £10.
Check your yellow pages and see what you have locally.
I wait until the winter when most garden centres have sales and although its a bit hit and miss I usually find what I want.

As a general note to everyone:fertilizer seems to come from abroad and with the falling value of the pound it wil get more and more expensive.  The prices of the ready to use solutions on the supermarket shelves reflect this.

Thanks, I had done the Google thing, and the cheapest I turned up was £15 / 25kg bag

http://www.green-tech.co.uk/store/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=27&products_id=314

but orders less than £300 have a £15 carriage charge :(

(Actually Croydon Allotments list their 2008 price as £5.45 / 25kg ... but that's a long way to drive :( )

I didn't think about Yellow Pages Doh! Thanks for that.

I think I'll stock up if I find some ...
