Reusing 75cl wine bottles?
« on: May 05, 2009, 12:02 »
Hi all,

I read with interest the very expansive thread on new things to do with your old plastic bottles, very useful.

My question is, can anyone think of a good use on the allotment (or anywhere else!) for emply glass 75cl wine bottles?!

I've wracked my brains but alas can't think of anything!

Thanks in advance,
Helen

I've seen them buried 3/4 deep, neck down, as path edging...

"During the first series of BBC2's It's Not Easy Being Green, Dick Strawbridge put together an elegant greenhouse heating system using a 10 Watt PV Solar Panel, a 12V battery, a small fan, some PVC waste pipe, and 1 cubic metre of crushed glass"

But the catch with the crushed glass was that he had to hire a special machine to do it so it wasn't dangerous shards of glass.

Go to Monsieur Besse's down the road, buy either 5 or 10 litres of wine in your cubitainer at 1.75€ a litre (less for rosé a little more for white) fill up your cleaned bottles and cork them, then savour the flavour at your leisure after a hard day's work in the garden/allotment. :)
Talking to the microwave,I ask you wall, what is the world coming to?
Blesséd are the cracked for tis they who let in the light!
