I've had some really nice spring cauliflowers this year - Variety Jerome.



This one weighed 5 pounds

Oh Auntie i love cauliflower but unfortunately i'd have no friends if i ate it very often :unsure:.....especially not with beans :ohmy: :lol:

I don't eat the beans but I LOVE cauliflower.

Several folks have grown them on our site.  I missed it last year but the previous year had them the size of dinner plates - 6 good portions each!
Just sown my seed for next year - although they are a long time growing they are really worth it

Well done Aunt Sally. Maybe you can advise me?

I only grew 6 plants this year. All of them have produced wonderful curds but as 4 of them needed cutting last week I gave 3 away. These were Fothergill's Walcheren Winter 3 -Armado April spaced at 2 foot.

How do you grow spring caulis that are not too big and do not all come at once.

I'm not a massive cauliflower fan, it's not something I can eat in quantity, but I'm growing some myself for spring next year and I'd be happy as larry if they looked even remotely as good as that :D

Aunt Sally, that one is a beauty.. Well done!  I have only tried cauliflowers twice and all of them were failures :(   I got through the seed stage, planted out and they just did not produce good heads.   Your lovely white cauli has given me the will to give it another go..

I grow several different varieties so that I don't get huge numbers all at once Salmo .

It's all to do with day length and flowering.
