Silence - What is it?
« on: May 03, 2009, 07:36 »
Hi i was watching my girls a few nights ago, (as i always do) and noticed that my black rock Gladis, was opencing her beak for a couple of seconds then closing it without any sound coming out - just silence! What does this mean?
I have also seen some of my other girls do it occasionally. It almost looked liked she had something stuck in her throat. She has been absolutley fine since, any ideas?

Many thanks HENrietta :)

When they're overly warm, they pant, like a dog but without the dribbling, and hold their wings out to the side, folded.

Could have been that. Or could have been something in their crop tickling. Or could have been going to shout but changing her mind. :D
