Hi I've chitted some peas after readingi t was a good idea, but know i have no idea which way to plant them? is the bit coming form the pea a shoot or a root??

The first bit to emerge is generally the root.  But the pea won't mind which way up you plant it.  Gravity will make it grow in the right direction. :)

I have just started chitting some french beans too, off out for a wee drinkie tonight and can make the raised bed and then plant them with a hang over tomorrow  :)

I've never bothered chitting peas, yet I always have a real good crop.
Does it make that much of a diffrence chitting them or have I just been lucky by not doing it ??? :blink:
I may take my time.....but i'll get there in the end.

I've tried to chit Ying Yang beans but I think they are roting away as they are starting to smell quite bad. :(

I've just had nearly 100 % success with a packet of  Kelvadon Wonder by just putting them in watering and leaving them. The beans however are no looking as promising, so migh try your suggestion of chitting for the next lot

After two years of not doing brilliantly with the growing rate of peas, chitting it was this year. All but four did - lots of peas planted out!  :D I'll be upset if they all get mildew.  :ohmy:

I usually leave the peas in water-logged kitchen roll over the night before sowing
