Any experience of Poundland anti-slug treatments?

Made a trip into town yesterday to Poundland to pick up some more plastic pots (10 x 4" pots @ £1 per pack; 6 x 6" pots @ £1 per pack) but have this morning realised we're facing some serious slug issues on the allotment.

Has anyone bought, used or had any experience with the current range of slug repellents or pellets that they're selling this year? There's a pretty good range of garden stuff this year, but I've not tried anything for dealing with slugs. Will probably head back today because there's a Lidl a few doors down and their cheap lager should form part of my counter-attack...
