Sprouts and Sprouting Broccoli

Could someone tell me if I need to cover my sprouts and sprouting broccoli with anything to protect it from the birds at this stage in the season - I'm getting very confused with what needs covering and when (I'm waiting for the butterfly netting to arrive for the cabbages - I've got that one sussed!!). Thanks as always.

My brassicas do a disappearing trick if I don't keep them covered ALL season. The young plants are especially susceptible.

pigeons love brassicas so if there are any near you you need to cover them
