I've got nothing to cover. Have I done something wrong?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I seem to spend ages in the morning lugging pots out of the greenhouse before going to work, then at work unwrapping the spuds and opening up the mini polytunnel ... and then the revers at night   No casualties so far. Last night it was so cold here at midnigth (yes, I was out with the torch hahahahaha) that you could see my breath in the air   and this is supposed to be a warm part of the country

Don't take any chances out there guys  --  (Torch optional  :D)

i've stopped worrying about frosts here in spain (although we had some heavy ones up until february), but it hailed here thisafternoon! i rushed out and covered my tiny carrot seedlings but there wasn't much i could do for the tomatoes or potatoes. luckily it wasn't too heavy in the end and they all seem ok, but it just goes to show, just when you think spring's finally properly arrived.... >:(

Hi Filly and welcome to the site  :D

Whereabouts are you - that can make a difference to the advice?  I'd suggest you edit your profile to put your location in there.

Also, have a look on metcheck for the forecast for your postcode.  If it's forecasting under about 5 or 6 degrees then there is a risk from frost.

I would try and cover as much as you can that is outside or in the unheated greenhouse.  Newspaper will do if you have no fleece, old compost bags or old net curtains.  Basically anything which can create a micro-climate and protect.

As for sowing, I'd leave it a couple of days and see how your plants are doing - if they don't look well, take a piccie and post it on here for us to have a gander at  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Just got in from work and re-checked Metcheck and they have now decided +2c instead. Will still be fleecing up though.  :)
