:( anyone know any good ways to rid of rats-

diy traps ,poisons or any other .

I have seen a dirty great rat walk across my plot and have noticed that my rhu and broads are being affected by something, possibly them. :x  :x
When the sun shines i dig,
When rain pours i dig
When the wind blows---I SURF.

If you want to avoid poison you can buy a battery operated high frequency deterent (can't be heard by human ears). Not expensive and definately work - I have tried them. They will stop recurring problems which poison may not be able to. Not sure where I bought it but would imagine large diy stores may stock them!
The force is strong in this one!

I have had rats move in under my greenhouse They started to remove large amounts of soil from  under one corner and ate some of my Broadbean plants that were just outside..... Resorted to traps, killed two very large examples - put a poison trap down they are till helping themselves to the contents as I write this hopefully it will see them off!
If this does not do the trick my Jack Russell will be spending a night in there to make friends with them!!!

Had a rat problem in our garden last year, they had got behind some wooden panels and in the roof space.
I tempted them out with apples and peanut butter, let them get use to where the food is so they will keep coming back.
Then spent a few sunny afternoons sat 15 yards away with a tin of beer and me .22
Havent seen them since.
