What is the best raised bed kit?

Having had a look at some suppliers there are various types available, plastic, wood etc, which type is best, or doesn't it really matter?   ;)

Sorry to ask on this thread but new here and lookig for options to grow my own veg. Can you used raised beds without the need for them to be over soil as in the raised beds located over my slab area then filled with soil.

Yes you can, just make sure there are some drainage holes.

Would you advise to coat the inside of the rasied bed with anything. I have some old fence panels at home which i might be able to use to make one

My first one was made from pallet wood and I didn't treat it with anything so can't advise you there.  It has beed in use now for three years and I'll probably replace it next year.  My new ones are made from pressure treated gravel boards.

4'x10' is the optimum size.  4' wide means you can reach the middle without stepping on them.  10' long is suggested as any longer and there is the temptation to step on rather than go around.  I havn't found that to be a problem though.
