Aura seed potatoes

Thanks Digger but checked and they are now out of stock.
Terrible price but would pay , grow and save some tubers for next year.
Any more ideas?

Sorry, Mr. Google only threw up a few relevent references to 'aura seed potatoes. The others were blogs that referred back to this company & the chap's micro plants.

Couldn`t find a link to post a query to them. So looks like I am out of luck for this year

Been trying to find some aura potato seeds without success.

I've never heard of these before. What makes them so special???

I have grown Aura for about 30 years - originally brought in to this country by my great aunt, now deceased and cultivated by Donald MacLean, the great heritage potato grower, also sadly deceased (many years ago) who lived in Dornoch Farm, Crieff. He grew a phenomenal number of different varieties, but after he died, his widow just could not do the same so I think a lot of very rare varieties went with him.

 It is a great potato and I save tubers each year - I know you should not, but it is the only way to keep the variety and so far it seems to be ok.
I suggest you bite the bullet and buy some and do the same. My G Aunt sent some seed to  HDRA, who 'cleaned' it up of viruses by undertaking micro tip culture - the growing tip of any potato is free of virus, so it is cut off and grown in sterilised agar and a clean plant is the result. It was once votes the absolute best tasting potato so be persistent and good luck!
