what's eating my asparagus?

what's eating my asparagus?

My asparagus has recently started to come up, but something is already nibbling it. Do slugs eat asparagus? I had a nasty attack of asparagus beetle last year, and I'm worried it might be this already, although I can't see any. Any ideas? Hope my photo is visible...
