He was referring to the yellow noseless avatar next to Christine's post. Here's a smily on his behalf  :tongue2:

I know he was refering to the avatar, I was wondering why

Definately a joke Peapod.   She said it had never harmed her and on her avatar her skin is yellow and she has no nose. ;) :)

Made me laugh :)

Can't really think of anything to add, except that I thought of suggesting you just sneak them to her already washed, until I remembered that the much better flavour would be a real giveaway! :D

I forgot to mention the benefit of having a plot just the other side of the hedge from a busing road - that you can work there all night under the illumination of the street lighting.

If you're worried, grow a screen of tall climbers or hedging next to the road, which will trap most of the dust.

People with green skin and no nose and ears often lack in the humour department, or so i am led to believe  :tongue2:

Lead in petrol used to poison people mainly by ingestion through food, where it caused increasingly impulsive behaviour in the young, and many of the older to say, "I'm still here, aren't I !" This prompted even the  British government to act. Now we have nitrous oxides from diesel that first of all feed plants like a fertiliser, and then at higher levels stress the plants with ozone, making them diseased. And the young folk have entered politics. That's progress, I suppose.  ::)
As long as you wash off the dust, you will get nothing worse than a mild outbreak of weirdhumourosis.
It's not the winning that inspires, it's the continued struggle.

The most important thing you will ever do is be an example.

Hi Share and welcome (pop along to the welcome section and tell us more about yourself!)

At the end of the day, if we have to grow in urban areas then we have to decide that risk versus the chemically enhanced veg from the supermarket.  If we grow our own then we have an input into what pesticides/herbicides, manure, fertiliser and compost we put on our soil and beds.  I know that although I grow near a main road (and as already pointed out so do many UK farms) I have a choice in as much as I can regarding other pollutants. We cant say that about the supermarkets, or even farmers markets and suchlike.

My sons would agree with you about my afflicted weirdhumourosis  :D

Watch out for those old 2-stroke petrol engines... strimmers / mowers... they are the ones to smoke a lot!  :tongue2:

All this concern about polution would be greatly reduced if we all cycled to the plot??  ::)
