Do they have to be grown under glass or can they cope with being in pots outside?

I did a Mr Fothergills mix last year - chilli chake, all did really well. I strung loads up to dry, and dried rest in oven then crumbled.
This year im doing Numex Twilight because they have gorgeous purple chillies. 100% germination.

they are looking good cabbage head!
i like the idea of them being so high in the greenhouse - going to have to nick that idea!

Mine are still tiny - they seem to be taking ages to develop their second set of leaves!

One overwintered Anaheim (just starting to produce chillis again)
Tokyo Hot
Black Pearl
Numex Twilight

I had poor germination with all three this year but that might have been because I was using last year's seed compost - I was unable to get out and buy compost at the time.  I've got two Black Pearl seedlings and one of each of the other two, and a few more seeds of each sown a week or so ago in fresh compost to try and get some more.

These sweet peppers where sown the same time as the rest. As you can see they are much bigger. They all sprouted 3/4 days of each other. Not enough to make such a difference you would think. Peppers are contrary plants.

I've done a few types, Pinoccio's Nose, Prairie Fire, Apache, Summer Salad, Rosso sweet etc, perhaps 30 - 40 plants in all.

However, this is my first year with a greenhouse, so if it goes well, my question is "Where do you folks get all of these types from?!!!"

Can we have a link to "Peppers of the world" in good time for seed purchases for next year please?...Ta!!

I am growing

Chilli Shake (mixed, unspecified)
Deamon Red

Jalapeno

strange thing is they were all started at the same time but the hab's and scotch Bonnets are about an inch high but the rest are about 8 inches high
all are looking healthy and have lots of leaves ?

Mine are tiny too  :(  Have started putting propogator lids over them just as it's getting cooler in the evening to try to keep them warmer overnight. Fingers crossed.

Don't worry they are just slower and lower. My habs are also very short-only about 2 inches after 3 months growth  while some other chilies sown a month later are much taller. They are all producing lots of sideshoots so are clearly healthy.
Remember habs and scotch bonnets are a different species to many common chillies so you might expect different growth rates.
