My hens have just started laying and this morning I saw that one of them was busy roosting on the ground. We have had 2 eggs in the past 2 days. The first one we found in the hen house and the second one was on the ground. This morning when I went to look I saw that one of the hens was roosting on the ground.

What can I do to get her to roost in the house? Is this normal? Will she go back into her house?

Is she actually laying her eggs on the ground or just sitting around?

maybe pop some fake eggs in the nestbox -or golf balls, this will help teach her the best place to lay her eggies fro you

How long have you had your girls?

I got them in December last year and I think they are about 24 weeks old. She has just started laying eggs.
