That should help protect the cabbages!

Fewer pigeons!  ;)

Ah!....

Bunnies!

(Thanks to the on line crossword puzzle solver!)

Is bunnies a rude word then?

I had a toad last year  :) and there must be some thrushes as I keep finding broken snail shells. Possibly a hedgehog as well because there were hardly any slugs last year  :D
I've seen a wren and there are quite a few other birds living in the hedge.

Gorgeous pic!

I realized today that one of the package I left in front of my garlic to remember where they are seems to have been chewed by someting as there is pieces of it scatered everywhere on my plot!

A Hedgehog or two would be good.

As with gardens everywhere we have more slugs that you shake a stick at (Which I am often seen doing).

We have frogs and toads which help.

I am going to turn part of the plot over to wild flowers in the hope of creating the best habitat for some of these garden friendly critters.

Don't be fooled completely, it also has a lot to do with being over phases by the amount of work some areas require to make them useable.

Am I the odd one out here? When I see a Robin I burry the worms rather than lay them out – better they are in the ground, breaking it up for me than lining the Robins belly!

I also have mice that I have left alone, they seem to cause no problem provided I top the compost heap up for them on a weekly basis!

(It is resting on the back of my glove).

You are not alone encouraging / tollerating the mice. My wife took a great deal of care not to disturb the nest & family she found in her home-garden compost heap. "Sadly" (?) one was squashed when she threw a heavy carpet on top to cover the heap one day....

Shame... but I guess if they are field mice they are a great deal better than house mice - yuck  :tongue2:
