well if they aready aggy you can plant em out and protect them for a while longer with fleece etc if its gonna get cold they will be fine and hardened off properly  by about a fortnight so wont need any cover    

Thanks again Munty. I'll plant em tomorrow. From what I have been told, I'll make sure that the bed is firm and I'll cover with fleece. Tell me, should I get Nematodes and put them in or wait until the greenery gets more tempting for slugs? If I put nematodes in, will they grow and be effective for the duration?
Alternatively should I give each brassica plant a protective collar eg a cut pop bottle or drainpipe??

im of the olds school mate ... why spend money on nematwotsits when a cheap pot of slug pellets £.99p wil do the job properly , i do advocate the use of a colar sometimes on brassicas ( sprouts mainly ) i use old roofing felt  make a 12inch or so circle of it cfold in half and lit to middle  then pop its round the stalk
