Red Ants???

I have been to the new allotment today and got loads done .... (will try post pic later), dug 2 beds and a section for the apple and cherry tree, and planted both.

My question is do red ants eat anything i am likey to grow or will they cause a problem. after lifting a load of plastic ect there is a nest somewhere underneath

I also dug a nest up whilst digging the beds.i only saw them after one bit me!!!

ouch! red ants hurt like mad!! pet anteater is your best bet........ you could probably hire him out on the allotment!!
