Our local fish and chippie had a smallholding and used to feed his scraps to the chicken and pigs. People always said his scotch eggs had a funny fishy taste, i wonder why ? :)

Now that is a point to consider....

 .................reminds me of the milk my dad brought home straight from the farm.... in winter the cows were fed "cow cake" and the taste of the oils in it passed into the milk  :tongue2:

I wonder what flavour eggs could be developed with a bit of organic chuck feeding?

Maybe strawberry is  too subtle a flavour . But i`m suprised that during the summer one of my chooks eggs do not taste of tomato the amount she steals off the others.

 MMM,mine don,t like raw greens either, i think i will try cooking some from now on and try some hanging some stalks up and see how they like them.

Fish heads?

 Eggs were a tradable commodity... we had loads so swapped for fish

 :D ON Thurs I swapped my half doz eggs for the most humungous freshly caught trout - I could only eat half - it was delicious!

PS I think I got the better deal!
