I have a bit of a daft dilemma so hope someone can help.  I had carefully labelled seedlings of Outdoor Girl, Roma and Garten Pearl toms flourishing on my windowsill when OH decided to be helpful and pot them on for me - but neglected to notice my labels! i've worked out, I think, which are Outdoor Girl because the leaves have smoother edges, but haven't got a clue which of the others are which.  To avoid three foot tall toms in my hanging baskets,  any suggestions please as to what I can do (apart from a divorce).  They could do with being put in final resting places in greenhouse in the next week or so.  Any ideas gratefully received.

The only thing I can suggest is to resow one of the others and when it has its true leaves see if it matches to its bigger brothers. That might work, you could be able to do this before needing to plant up your hanging baskets.

Would have thought that the gartenpearl would be a lot slower growing, as it's a smaller growing plant? I think i'd pot on rather than put in basket now as within a couple of weeks the difference should be noticeable ???

I have roma and gardeners delight - the roma are darker leaved and pinker in the stem, if that is any help.

Thanks all.  MumofStig usually my experience with Garten Pearl is that they are slower growing but not this year! (typical). I've probably got the best tomato seedlings I've had in about 15 years.   I shall inspect for pinker stems when I get home.  If all else fails, I'll have some remarkable hanging baskets.

not sure if this helps but if the seed leaves are still there my gartenperle seemed to have longer thinner seed leaves that the super marmande ones I am growing. I mixed mine up because I marked one pot and thought if i keep them all together i would know which they were  - famous last words -  ::) but seems to worked matching seed leaf size and shape.
