I think an egg is an egg Ollie!  I may be wrong, but I believe many people buy the hens that different colours, just so they look nice in the box.  Quite fancy some blue eggs myself!!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for green eggs from my new ducklings.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Post a picture of the green egg laying hen and her green egg (shade is important) .  There's a lot of members here who may be able to identify her.

Maybe they used them for baiting a larsen trap if the magpies or crows were raiding the pheasant or  partridge pens.

I have a couple of young CL hybrids anxiously awaiting first eggs over Easter - anyhoo - they each sport a CL tuft and have about 80% chance of blue eggs, the others would lay tints, either way I'm happy. I hazard a guess that ALs birds are CL hybrids, they are getting popular. One of my pure bred CLs laid greenish eggs over the winter but now they both lay identical blue ones again.
3 o'clock is both too early and too late to start anything - Sartre said so.
