Hi

My very first question, for my new raised bed.  I plan to grow some first earlies in old compost bags.  I bought some tats called Rocket.  I have had them in a cool light place for two weeks but can see no chits.  Any thoughts as to why not and can I plant them anyway.  Pic below I hope.

The chits are the green shoots on top.  You can plant them any time you're ready.

Oh, ok thanks, was waiting for sort of stems to shoot up.  New at this game.  I thought they would look like some tats do that you buy in the supermarket (not seed tats) when you have left them in the fridge too long..........But guess thats cos its dark in the fridge.

Conclusive proof that, when you shut the fridge door, the light goes out!

Am chitting Pink Fir Apples in the garage - it's light and cool - but no sprouts yet after almost 2 weeks. Are they slow growers?
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

They did a test on Gardeners World chitting half their spuds and leaving half un-chitted. On the first earlies the chitted ones had almost twice as many spuds! while on the others it made no difference. So it's a good idea to chit first earlies.
