What can they be?

Hi everyone... just a quick question if I may... I have a Dalek on the plt and I have been filling it with the usual things for compaost makeing, tea bags, egg shells, paper, waste veg etc... and then a layer of chicken poop & straw from the henshed.
I've notice over the past 2 weeks that when I take the lid off to add more stuff, there are quite a few midge type flies in and around the bin.... do you think this is anything to worry about or anyone any idea what they are?
The main reason for asking is I have the Dalek in between 2 trenches, 1 with onion sets already growing and the other ready for planting carrots.

fruit flies or similar nothing to worry about. Most fruit like bananas and oranges etc have the eggs, larvae in the skin and you never know.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Probably fungus gnats , you get them with indoor pot plants too . I think they are irritating but harmless.
