can girls get spurs ???? i have noticed today one of my girls has what looks like spurs an now i am paranoid  :lol: :lol: i cant post the pics as they are to big for the site :(and i dont know how to make them smaller

Not unusual for hens to have small spurs.  one of mine has.

Some of mine have had spurs over the years.  All mine that had spurs did not lay.  I call them my tranny chickens as they half girl half boy.  Got one Orp and one Maran with spurs at mo.  Did post a while ago about this.  But , no you're not going mad.

the most eggs i have had is 14  out of 17 girls but what ones dont lay i could not tell , unless they were all in seprate runs an houses . i dont think thats bad considering but i cant wait to get my new girls  :D

My bestest layer Nugget! who is a goldline, has a spur on just one leg only! I did worry at first but she is definately laying and hasnt had a day off for over a month  :happy:
thinks her guardian angel`s gone on strike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dealing more with game breeds I am very used to seeing spurs on the hens. I have a Sumatra hen that is showing multiple spurs just like the males will get but I doubt that they will devolop fully.
