Broad bean plant plugs

Hi,
Just got back from London yesterday to find that a load of plants that I had ordered had arrived

Problem is that when I had a loom at them I noticed that the broad beans all had two good plants to each plug. I want to separate tehm and would like some advice on the best way.

It may be that a second shoot is coming up from the base of the plants.

If there are 2 plants just seperate them carefully and plant.

If you have plenty of plants I do not think it would affect yield if you plant both together, after all broad beans often produce a second or even a third shoot from the base.

I'd plant them out together, maybe at slightly wider spacing than for a single plant. You'll check the growth badly if you damage the roots separating them, and it's almost impossible not to damage the roots a little.
