Can I use this on my Lottie?

Hi Guys

I have just picked up the keys for my allotment and have plans to build raised beds, my question is, I have chickens at home and in their run I use sharp sand as a type of litter.







They are due for a full clear out at easter and was wondering if this sna d would be of any value to help build up the raised beds. Would it have any nourishment value? Also we obviouisly get chicken droppings which are mised with chopped straw and shredded paper, if I was to put this in my composter would it be okay to use the following year?

I think what PAH is trying to say is that sharp sand is excellent to help loosen heavier soils but the chicken poo would be too fresh and would burn plant roots. Let it compost until there's no smell at all and then add to the bed soil.
