i've got some herbs growing indoors(Basil,Rosemary&Thyme)they lookquite bushy&healthy. How easy is it to grow more from cuttings ? How long until they can be used?Would it just be easier to buy more plants?
  Thanks in advance.

Don't think you can do basil from cuttings........just grow more from seed.
I've never tried thyme but rosemary roots quite easily i've found. I did mine in small pots with a plastic bag over the top :D

You can layer thyme, take a good strong shoot, (leave attached to plant) remove lower leaves, scratch the stem a little, and push the stem into a new pot/ground. In Autumn seperate from parent plant, overwinter in a cool greenhouse or similar. Plant out next spring.

Apparently this method works for sage aswell. I've just done it with my sage, and found my thyme had done it all by itself. How thoughtful.

I have heard if you take a basil stem and place in water it will root in a week or so. I tried this too but it didn't work for me.
