My 'new' Greenhouse has a base....which I would say is around 6 inches in depth.  I was thinking of putting a layer of blocks down on the paving stones where everything will be located and putting the base and the greenhouse on top.  When the guy I bought the Greenhouse from came around the next day with the glass, he said that there was already enough depth for soil....ie basically around 6 inches.  Do you think that this is the case or should I put down a layer of blocks to increase the depth.  I hope to grow some tomatoes and some chillies and aubergines in it.  Thanks.

Oops....I've just been out to measure the base and it's uner 4 inches in depth.

If nothing else the blocks will give you extra headroom, which will be well worthwhile to stop you bashing your head and also to give tall plants a bit more headroom.

You then have a lot more choice about what depth of soil you want to grow in also.
