New Greenhouse
« on: March 28, 2009, 18:15 »
I'm wrestling with the choice between a second greenhouse (got an 8x6 and can't grow enough tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers) or a polytunnel - would welcome current opinions.

In addition, I've seen this greenhouse (from a link off this site) :-

http://www.gardensupplydirect.co.uk/greenhouses_and_cold_frames/8ft_x_6ft_gardman_greenhouse/13367_p.html

It appears very good value - has anyone any experience of this product or any views please?

Don't think you need to grow currants in a greenhouse.

Sorry, I'll get my coat.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Thanks for the reply Peter - a bit surprised there aren't more opinions on this one.

I guess nobody has any experience/opinions of the Gardman greenhouses then?

hi there, i bought the same greenhouse on ebay last year

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8-x-6-Green-Framed-Aluminium-Greenhouse-Green-House_W0QQitemZ250396051525QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Garden_Structures_Fencing_CV?hash=item250396051525&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262

where you can get it slightly cheaper.

I did all my growing in a Norfolk plastic greenhouse, an 8 x 6ft and it wasn't  big enough :(
Have bought a polytunnel type greenhouse cheap on ebay for this summer.
Just waiting for (hopefully) the spring winds to end to put it up. I don't expect it to last for long..........just till i can afford another greenhouse for all the toms, peppers and chillis i would like to grow :D

THis is exactly the greenhouse I have. I have had it for about a month now and so far have only grown seedlings but it seems great for the price.

As I'm currently pregnant I got the local garden centre to install it for me and have it on a slab base with a hole in the middle (if you see what I mean) The guy who installed it said he had comments about the wind lifting the roof panels out if in an exposedc position so he siliconed them in.

I'm really pleased with it.
