Cheap fruit and veg stuff
« on: March 24, 2009, 18:27 »
Since I have joined I have noticed that folk on here seem to share their bargain finds and I myself have greatly benefitted from that. So thought I would share with you all some bargains I came across at the weekend, there is a big chain of stores called 'Instore' (kind of like a pound shop but not quite a cheap), they seem to have LOADS of gardening bits in at the moment at good prices. I got myself a pack of 75 onion sets for 99p, a redcurrant bush for £1.99, a big bucket of chicken manure pellets for £6.99.

Will have to wait and see if the plants grow but if they don't then no big deal because they're cheap anyway. They also had in raspberry plants and blackcurrants but I already have some of those I did'nt bother getting them myself.
oohh... nearly forgot. Packets of seeds for 50p as well. :)

Sadly there's not one near us, but thanks for sharing the info with us, Limey.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks for the tip Limey

I had gooseberry bushes and a necterine from there last year - they have done fine.   :)

You just have to be lucky with the timing and pick and choose ....  Like Wilkos + B&Q, they dont water them, so they are great when they arrive and sad specimens 4 days later.  :(
