The best ones is good runners off a patch where you have seen lots of fruit on the parent plants. 

However I've heard good words of Alpine.

Thanks Christine, was thinking about using Aldi strawberrys? They are mixed types, and I am thinking of cutting holes out of old food grade barrel.Cheers
