Nothing, because they are not earthed - the same way that birds can land on overhead supply cables.

electric fence managed to keep most chickens in, but some escapees still get out even with clipped wings. it is like chicken run as i think even more are following suit. think they know when we plant our veg seedlings out! but i would recommend. for a year anyway! ps they do have a nice home!
